William Sidney "Willie" Houck, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018


William Sidney “Willie” Houck of Noble, Oklahoma, passed away September 7, 2018, at the age of 56.  He was born February 14, 1962, in French Camp, California, to William Lawsom & Betty Jane (Becknell) Houck.

Willie was a member of New Season Church.He would always help out with the prison ministry.  He enjoyed working on cars, building hot rods and even putting together models as well as working on his truck.  Willie enjoyed cooking and his kids loved his chicken on the grill.  Laura said she loved her husband’s chicken fried steak and his German chocolate cake.  He was known for his mashed potatoes and would never reveal his secret recipe.  Willie was an avid OU fan.He enjoyed watching westerns on ME TV, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza.Willie attended Central Mid High in Norman.  He was in the dry wall business with his wife, and he was the owner-operator of Houck’s Dry Walling.  Willie had a dry sense of humor and came across as Mr. Gruff, but inside he had a kind and loving heart and would help anyone in need.  Willie had cancer and he never gave up.  He fought until Jesus said “It’s time to come home.”  His first love was his Lord and Savior.  He loved being with his wife, Laura, the love of his life, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed threatening to send someone a fruit cake.

Willie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Laura Houck, of the home; 3 sons, William Houck & wife, Jennifer, of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, Sidney Houck, of Norman, Oklahoma, and Journey Houck, of Lexington, Oklahoma; 6 daughters, Brittany Privett & husband, Gregg, of Noble, Oklahoma, Natasha Houck, of Colorado, Danielle Parkey & husband, Jarred, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Casey Heesch & husband, Sheldon, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Serenity Houck, of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, and Promise Houck, of Slaughterville, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bruce Kinsey, Robert Houck, and Rick Houck; 4 sisters, Shirley Wiggins, Sharon Smith, Donna Williams, and Sheila Eldridge.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Betty Houck; 1 brother, Larry Houck; and 1 sister, Gayla Oaks.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at New Season Church, located at 300 N. Telephone Rd., Moore, Oklahoma.  Interment to follow at Fairview Maguire Cemetery, in Noble, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
