Eileen Joyce Gross, born April 22, 1925 to Frank and Sarah Offer in Bristol, England. She was the youngest of four brothers and three sisters, Frank, Archie, Fred, Bill, Ada, Doris, and Gladys. Both of her parents had died by the time she was 12 years old. Her oldest sister, Ada along with her husband, Doug brought her to live with them.

 

At the age of 20, she married William (Bill) Gross, an American Soldier stationed in England. They traveled to America on the Queen Mary after they were married. They had 4 sons, Roger (deceased), Douglas, Raymond, and William, who only lived a few hours.

 

She had eight grandchildren; more than ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in England. She has one sister-in-law, Zola, in Amarillo. They had a very close friendship. She had a long friendship with Joyce Conner who lives in Pampa, Texas along with Helen Jacobs and Pauline Johnson, both deceased.

 

Eileen was Baptised in 1955 and served Jehovah faithfully until her death, September 4, 2017.

 

Special thanks to all the family and friends for all the love and care you provided to her.

 

Also a special thanks to Ed Dutton a resident of Emerald Care and Kim, the Activity Director, who spent a lot of time with her.

 

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Fairview Congregation, 5600 S. Hattie, Oklahoma City, OK. Services were provived by John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.

Our thoughts are with all our family in the USA on the loss of Auntie Eileen.Remembering many happy times together in the US and on her visits to England from Pauline, Philip and our families.Best wishes also from all of Eileen's many relatives in England.
