Wilma Inez Anderson

Inez was born on a farm east of Moore on June 24, 1935 and passed away on November 18, 2020.She was a 1953 graduate of Moore High School.  She then earned a bachelor's degree in Education from Avila College and a Masters degree from Central Missouri State.

Inez married Henry Anderson in 1953 and were blessed with two children. They made their home in Oklahoma City, then moved to Missouri while Henry was in the oil business.  When Henry passed away in 1982, Inez came back home to Moore.

She had a long career in public schools, mostly in the Moore Public Schools.  She served as an elementary teacher as well as a reading specialist, which included coordinating individualized reading programs.  In 1988 she was named Teacher of the Year of Apple Creek Elementary.

Inez was a loving mother to Teresa and Randy and was involved with both their activities and enjoyed, Randy’s, career with Arabian horses.  She also enjoyed her Sunday School class at First Baptist, Moore.  She was proud to be a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the First Families of Cleveland County.

She is predeceased by her husband, Henry, her son, Randy, parents, Otho and Esther Jones, a sister, Edna DaVoult, and her brother, Earl Jones.  She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Anderson of Moore and a sister, Irene Petrick of Tulsa, and several nieces and nephews.
