“Holy Father, I’m your child. The more I love you the more I smile. You know I love you. Won’t you help me love you more.”
Daddy Loved Jesus with all of his heart and strived to love him more and more every day. He lived his life serving Jesus and saving souls. God only knows how many people were lined up in the streets of Heaven the day he entered because of the call on his life. William Samuel Woods was born on June 25th, 1943, in Chicago, IL to Wanda L. and Samuel L. Woods. He was called up to Glory on February 4th, 2024. He began preaching the Gospel at the age of twelve years old in the youth group at his church called Living Waters under Pastor Grey, in Walnut Grove, IL, where he first met the Lord at the age of nine.
He met and married Vera Watson and together they had four beautiful children, and 23 wonderful years together. But in this broken world, life is never perfect. In 1984 two families became one when Sam met and married his wife Mary and welcomed her two children. Sam and Mary were married for almost 40 years and during that time they rarely spent a day apart. In 1989, they welcomed their baby girl.
Together they moved to Oklahoma and founded and Pastored Living Waters in Oklahoma City and preached until the Lord called him home to Glory.
He is survived by his wife Mary Woods, and children William Woods and Spouse Sharon Woods of Oklahoma City, OK, Daniel Woods of Oklahoma City, OK, Josh Woods and spouse Lindsey Woods of Midwest City, OK, John Woods and spouse Christina Woods of San Diego, CA, Misty Simmons and spouse Heath Simmons of Choctaw, OK, and Somer Davis and spouse Paul Davis of Midwest City, OK.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Daniel, Angela, Caleb, Hannah, Hailey, Gracie, Truett, Liam, Preston, Reagan, Mercy, Elliott, Elva; and great-grandchildren: Mariah, Jaxon, Nathan, and Saylor.
He is preceded in death by parents Wanda and Samuel Woods, and daughter Tamera Woods.
2nd Corinthians 5:8 reminds us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
