Wesley Gene Rodgers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on November 20, 2022, at the age of 59. Wes was born in Oklahoma City on December 20, 1962, the son of Wayne Rodgers and Barbara (Sharry) Rodgers. He attended Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City, graduating with the Class of 1981. While he was growing up, Wes was very close with his older brother Rodney, and the duo hung out and ran around together all throughout their school days. After graduating from high school, Wes went to work in the Construction industry, where he stayed for most of his working career. From laying tile to driving a cement truck, Wes was a hard worker who thoroughly enjoyed his career. On January 28, 1988, he married the love of his life, Sandy, in a beautiful ceremony in Oklahoma City.
Wes was a loving, kindhearted person with a warm, charitable heart. Always sympathetic for the plight of his fellow man, Wes enjoyed donating his time and hard earned pay to feed the homeless in his community. He was quiet, friendly, down-to-earth, and so funny. He enjoyed fishing, and especially loved spending time fishing on his boat at Lake Eufaula, where he had a vacation home. He also liked to hunt and looked forward to deer season each year. He enjoyed watching sports, always following the OKC Thunder, the Kansas City Chiefs, and his beloved OU Sooners, making Saturdays at home during football season very interesting, with Sandy being a die-hard Oklahoma State Cowboys fan. More than anything in his life, Wes enjoyed time spent with his family. He loved date nights with Sandy, visiting with his mother, and being with his children. When his grandchildren came along, he treasured their visits, and more importantly, loved them all unconditionally. Wes was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Rodgers.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Sandy, and his daughter, Chelsea Rodgers, of the home; three sons, Jacob Rodgers, Joshua Rodgers, and Jared Rodgers, all of Oklahoma City; his mother, Barbara Rogers; one brother, Rodney Rodgers of Oklahoma City, and one stepsister, Amanda Rogers of Yukon, Oklahoma; along with eleven grandchildren, and many loving extended family and dear friends.
