Vicki Lynn Kalkbrenner of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on November 13, 2023, at the age of 67. Vicki was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on October 21, 1956, to Shirley Ann (Cosrobe) Buchanan and Everett Ray Buchanan. She grew up on the family ranch with her brothers and sisters in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Vicki was a faithful member of Light House church of God.
Vicki loved animals, everything from dogs, to horses, cows, to cats. She loved to express her creativity with sewing and upholstery work and was a talented seamstress, even lovingly handmaking her daughter-in-law Heather’s wedding dress. She enjoyed watching classic westerns and just like her father, Vicki was a huge fan of anything starring John Wayne, with her favorites being McLintock! and The Sons of Katie Elder. Vicki also loved romantic movies and was an avid reader of romance novels.
She was a giving person with a loving, caring heart who always wanted to make sure everyone was happy, healthy, and well-fed. Vicki was outgoing, joyful, and loved a good discussion about the more meaningful things in life. When it came to family disagreements, she was always the peacemaker.
Vicki’s family were everything to her, and she adored nothing more than being with the people she loved. The family enjoyed camping and took trips to the Illinois River and Fort Cobb Lake together often, and they also enjoyed road trips to Shreveport, Louisiana, both Houston and Galveston, Texas, and one very memorable vacation to Universal Studios in Florida. Vickie treasured her family, especially her late husband Robert, her children, and her grandchildren, who were her ultimate pride and joy. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Vicki touched many lives with her bubbly personality and her genuine love for others. She will be deeply missed.
Preceding her in death are husband, Robert Kalkbrenner Jr., her daughter, Kandi Kalkbrenner, her father, Everett Buchanan, and two sisters, Barbara Gillenwater, and Pamela Walls.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Kalkbrenner III and daughter-in-law Heather; her mother, Shirley Buchanan of Blanchard, Oklahoma; two brothers, Darrell Buchanan, and Everett Buchanan Jr., both of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and two sisters, Cheryl Fales of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and Sharron Sursa of Blanchard, Oklahoma.
