Velma Lavisa (Hanson) Jones

Velma Lavisa Jones, 92, passed away on Octobe 14,2020.  The daughter of Jabe and Mary Hanson, Velma was born on November 3, 1927 in Wynnewood, OK. 

Velma was a life long member of First Christian Church in Pauls Valley.  She was a homemaker.  Velma loved playing Bridge and in her earlier days she enjoyed western and ballroom dancing. 

Velma is survived by her son, KJ Jones; daughter, Teri Jones Cox and husband Ron; 4 grandchildren, Kristal Hamm and husband Bob, Laura Formby and husband Joel, Justin Howe and wife Meaghan, and Kurtis Jones and wife Amber; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Pat Hanson; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Warren Jones; and siblings, Dennis Hanson, JR Hanson, Ventress Hanson, Myrtle Petree, Walker Hanson and Nida Wagoner. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Paoli Cemetery, Paoli, Ok. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel from 2:30 – 8:30 PM.  Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
