Tyler Thompson Tynes, of Oklahoma City, passed away April 2, 2021, at the age of 33. He was born March 30, 1988, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kevin Yocum & Wendy Tynes. Tyler was a sports enthusiast and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Oklahoma Sooners. Growing up, he played a lot of sports, he played football, basketball, and baseball. Tyler enjoyed watching TV and he enjoyed watching Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Patrick Swayze. He was a poet and had a passion for writing poetry. Tyler attended Westmoore High School. Following high school, he followed his father’s footsteps in the flooring business. He was also a ranch hand in Vian, Oklahoma. Tyler was a loving, caring, outgoing person with a loving and caring spirit. He was a happy and compassionate person. Tyler enjoyed being with people and he loved spending time with family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephews, and friend. Tyler touched the hearts of many with his outgoing and loving personality and will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be forever remembered in our hearts. Tyler is survived by his father, Kevin; his mother, Wendy; 4 brothers, Andy Yocum, of Newcastle, Dillon Yocum, of Oklahoma City, Treven Tynes, of Norman, and Finis Yocum, of Oklahoma City; and grandmother, Bernita Stroud, Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Tom Tynes, Riley Stroud, and Dude Yocum; grandmother, Sonya Yocum; and a very special cousin, Tommy Tynes. Visitation for Tyler will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2020, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, located at 507 E. Main Street, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
