Thomas Orrin Mills, Jr.

Thomas Orrin Mills, Jr, 63 passed away on January 9, 2021.  The son of Thomas Orrin Mills, Sr. and Mary Beth (Griffin) Mills, Tom was born on June 3, 1957 in Tampa, Florida.

Tom served in the Air Force Reserves for 6 years, and joined the OKC Police Department as soon as he could after that.  Tom retired after 30 years with the OKCPD as a Master Sergeant.  He was a first responder during the Murrah Building Bombing.  He cherished the lifelong friendships he made while on the Police Force.  After retirement, Tom went to work for FEMA where he served as a recovery assistant to many people after Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

Tom also was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite.  He enjoyed making many friends through these organizations. Tom was baptized into the Catholic church as a baby.  His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling and goin on cruises.  Tom loved his grandchildren and always supported them in all of their sporting events.  Duty to his family was very important to him.  He took wonderful care of his mom after the passing of his father. 

Tom is survived by his mother, Mary Beth Mills; 2 sons, Thomas Matthew Mills and wife Alexandria and Joshua Matanane and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Orrin Mills, Aydin, Masyn, Isabella, and Nolyn Matanane; siblings, Doris Mills, Mark Mills and wife Donna, and Greg Mills and wife Laurie; mother of his children and friend, Kim Marie McCasland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Orrin Mills; and granddaughter, Alana Matanane.

The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Moore, OK.
