Stephen Michael Sommer of Norman, OK passed away from this life on October 6, 2021 at the age of 61. Steve was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Anton Sommer and Sidney Prewitt on March 21, 1960. Steve was a hard worker who spent his working career as a trim carpenter.
Steve enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a skilled fisherman and hunter who loved to go bass fishing and deer hunting. Hunting was very important to Steve, and each year for many years, he attended deer camp, making many lifelong friends along the way. He made a hobby of collecting and loved going shopping for collectibles any chance he got.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anton Sommer, his mother, Sidney Bowery, and his stepfather Herman Bowery.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lee Ann Sommer; his children, daughter Rachel Sommer and husband Amous Baldwin, son Dustin Sommer, stepdaughter Sarah Miller and husband Randy, stepson Tim Elsen and wife Staci, stepdaughter Laura Miller and husband Jared, and stepson Adam Harris; grandchildren Chase Miller, Lincoln Miller, Crew Elsen, River Elsen, Aaliyah Southerland, Dakota Cometsevah, Brandon Majors, Peyton Sommer, Lexi Sommer, and Skylah Sommer; his siblings, sisters Linda Derrington, Evelyn Wald, Sandy Hall, and stepbrothers Billy Sommer, Jimmy Sommer and stepsister Sue Kent.
Services for Steve will be held at 10:00 am on October 8, 2021 at the Grace Place Baptist Church, located at 9300 South Anderson Road in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 2301 East Indian Hills Road in Norman, Oklahoma.
