Silas Smith Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Silas Eugene Smith, age 43 of Oklahoma City, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Silas died on May 26, 2021 in the state of Virginia. He was born on July 18, 1977 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Susan Smith and Javier Mata and grew up in the Oklahoma City metro area. Mr. Smith attended Capitol Hill High School and was employed as a Welder for Allfirst Industrial Contractors at the time of his death. Silas was a very hard worker and he took a lot of pride in his job. He loved welding and very much enjoyed the work that he did.

Silas was an outgoing person with a kind, giving, and loving heart and was known to do anything he could to help anyone. He always had a big, sincere smile on his face. Silas could most often be found spending time with his son, Noah, and he thrived when he was hanging out with his family and friends. He loved spending time outside. He enjoyed fishing, taking Noah swimming, and loved to play with his remote-control cars. Silas was a big OU fan and absolutely loved a good party, especially if his family, friends, and country music were involved. He was also a big fan of WWE wrestling – his favorite wrestler was always and forever “Macho Man” Randy Savage. He loved watching comedies and was particular to classic sitcoms like Sanford and Son and The Three Stooges.

Silas is survived by his son, Noah Webber, his parents Javier Mata and Susan Smith, a sister, Celena Garcia and her husband Caesar, one brother, Steffan Smith, two nieces, Angelina and Maribel, and one nephew, Issac. Silas was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Thursday, June 3 at 11:00AM at the John M. Ireland and Son Funeral Home and Chapel located at 120 South Broadway in Moore, Oklahoma, with interment to follow at 2:00PM at the Smith family cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma.
