Sharon Kaye Cawthon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on June 18, 2022, at the age of 71. Sharon was born in Oklahoma City on August 1, 1950, the daughter of Ivey Norwood Deason and Margaret Oletha (Spray) Deason. She attended John Marshall High School. On September 20, 1968, she married the love of her life, Thomas Cawthon, in a beautiful ceremony in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The couple were eager to start their family, and throughout the 1970s they had three beautiful children, Tonia, Christopher, and Micheal. She was a wonderful Homemaker for her family and had a rewarding job as a Diet Aide at St. Anthony’s Hospital.
Sharon was a sweet, friendly, and outgoing lady with a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Her faith was very important to her. She was a devout, godly woman who loved the Lord, and she enjoyed praying to Him and reading the Bible each day. She had a variety of hobbies that kept her active including sewing, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, listening to music, and singing. She enjoyed sports, and she and Thomas loved to watch Blazers and Stars hockey together. She also enjoyed baseball and loved watching the 89ers and was an avid OU and OKC Thunder fan as well. More than anything in life, Sharon enjoyed spending time with those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Her sweet, bubbly personality and zest for life were inspirational to many people in this world, and Sharon will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She will be greeted in Heaven by her beloved husband, Thomas Cawthon, her parents, Ivey and Margaret Deason, a granddaughter, Carrie Jane Rodgers, and a brother, Bill Deason.
Left behind to treasure her memory are her children, Tonia Rodgers and husband Darwin, Christopher Cawthon and wife Jennifer, all of Oklahoma City, and Micheal Cawthon of Chickasha, Oklahoma; along with five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of loving extended family and friends.
