Sharon Burnett passed away September 11th, 2023, at her home after a battle with dementia. She was born to Ela and Leon Lane in Hinton, Oklahoma on July 18th, 1945; Her parents preceded her in death.
Sharon’s passions were reading, snow skiing, beach and cruise travel, and spending time at Grand Lake. In fact, it was her love of the water that enticed her to a job that allowed her to live on the water at Grand. She enjoyed the time there with her husband, Bruce, and the many friends they met during the almost thirty years they enjoyed lake time.
Her career included human resources at Leeway Motor freight in Oklahoma City, Hollytex Carpet Mills in Watonga, Cinch Connector in Vinita, 4 Star Trailers in El Reno, and retiring from St Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Her greatest career accomplishment was when she saw the need to educate women on the importance of dress and business etiquette, as well as offering a store to find career clothing in one location, when she opened the store Professional Image Tailored Womenswear, in Northwest Oklahoma City.
She was greatly loved by her husband Bruce Burnett who was her rock over the past 27 years and whom she loved very much. She is survived by one brother, Fred Lane, and her children; Shelly Soliz and her husband Gilbert, Shannon Legg and her husband Jerry, and Marcus Harris and his wife Angie; her step-children Andrea Kimzey and her husband Mike, and Brenton Burnett and wife Carla.
