Robert "Bob" John Dickinson

Robert (Bob) John Dickinson, 61, of Moore, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 surrounded by his wife and two sons.

Bob was born on May 1, 1959, to John and Loraine in Hinsdale, Illinois. Bob attended West Lyden High School in Northlake, Illinois. Later, Bob attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University where he pursued a degree in elementary education.

After graduation, Bob worked as a teacher at Newkirk Elementary and Peckham Elementary. Bob was passionate about teaching and impacting students.  He loved the classroom and many students still remember Mr. D.

Bob met Mary Crampton in 1976 in Northlake, Illinois. On February 12, 1981, they wed and enjoyed 40 years of marriage.

Bob had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing music. Bob spent many years playing tenor saxophone in various bands. He also played bass on several worship teams. Later, Bob began to paint and enjoyed art. He was a member of several art societies and sold paintings around the Oklahoma City area. Bob also enjoyed watching UFC with his grandson Elijah.

Bob was preceded in death by his father John, mother Loraine, and sister Dolly. He is survived by wife Mary of Moore, Oklahoma, son Rocky of Moore, Oklahoma, son Grahm of Norman, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law Candice of Norman, Oklahoma, daughter Susanne of Moore, Oklahoma, and grandchildren Elijah, Asher, Tyler, Lincoln, Gemma, Magnolia, along with several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 801 N. Peters Ave., Norman, OK on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11am.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
