Rita Yvonne Davis-Leonard of Jones, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the age of 70. Rita was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 6, 1953, to Luther Jean (Simmons) Davis and Lee Willis Davis.
Professionally, Rita was a cook in the hospitality industry, and she loved to cook in her spare time at home, too. She was talented in the kitchen and her family looked forward to her incredible Christmas dinner that she lovingly cooked every year. Though she always worked hard, Rita also loved to party hard. She lived her life to the fullest and gave meaning to every moment. She enjoyed pulling pranks and playing jokes on her family and friends, and she loved fast cars, a good party, and of course, the color yellow. If you knew Rita, her love of all things yellow was very apparent. She was devoted to God and faithful in her beliefs. In her quieter moments, she loved to pray, and enjoyed watching birds.
Rita’s main goal in life was to provide the best life for her family. Family was everything to Rita, and she treasured the quality time she spent with her children, her sisters, and her big extended family, all of whom created lasting bonds and memories together while living in the same small town. These memories of a life well lived will live on fondly in the minds of the family and friends Rita leaves behind, while she begins her journey towards a new life in Heaven. She will be deeply missed.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Lee and Luther Jean Davis, and two sisters, Donna Shouse, and Mona Davis.
Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Michael Lee Conner, wife Renell, and their daughter Brooklyn; Tony Conner, wife Ullajean, and their children Megan, Anthony, Mikayla, and Tyler; Russell Conner, wife Andrea, and their children Jacob, Zach, and Aly; Amber Bupp, husband David, and their children Robert, and Madison; and Douglas White and his son, Grant. Rita is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Russell, and Debbie Wilson, eight great-grandchildren whom she loved very much, and many other beloved family and friends.
