Ricky Lee Shatley

Ricky Lee Shatley Sr. of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on October 6, 2021 at the age of 66. Ricky was born in McAlister, Oklahoma to Coy and Louise Shatley on July 26, 1955. Ricky spent most of his working career for the OG&E corporation, where he retired as a Troubleshooter.

Ricky was a talented musician who loved playing his guitar. Music was very important to him, and Ricky enjoyed getting together with other bands and musicians in Oklahoma City to play music.  He enjoyed being outdoors, and he liked taking his kids hunting and fishing any time he had the opportunity. Ricky was a solitary guy who loved to go for walks and enjoy nature. Despite his reserved and quiet personality, Ricky adored spending time with his family, and especially loved spoiling his grandchildren. Ricky will be dearly missed by all the people whose lives he impacted, and he will always be remembered fondly.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Louise and Coy Shatley, as well as a son, Jason Shatley.

Ricky is survived by his children, son Ricky Shatley Jr. and wife Misty, and son Justin Shatley; his grandchildren, Travis and Shayla Shately; and two sisters, Brenda Lancaster and husband David, and Kathy Alexander and husband Dan; as well as a host of loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 8:30 PM on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.

Services for Ricky will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore.
