Rhonda Bloomingburg Obituary

Rhonda Lucille (Hutchings) Bloomingburg, 68, formerly of Vian, was born on August 25, 1955, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to proud parents Bill and Loretta Hutchings. Rhonda peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her home of residence, due to complications following surgery.

Rhonda graduated from Vian High School, Class of '74, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader for the Mighty Wolverines and playing basketball.

She married Craig Bloomingburg on July 25, 1975, and they were blessed with one daughter, LaBreska, who brought immense joy to their lives.

She was deeply devout and unwavering in her Christian faith. She was empathetic and showed genuine care and concern for the needs and well-being of others, many times going out of her way to offer support, kindness, and assistance.

During her tenure of over 40 years as a dental assistant, Rhonda also skillfully utilized her American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter skills to assist hard-of-hearing patients, ensuring they received the same compassionate care as all others.

She had a keen sense of style, a natural flair for fashion, and a talent for decorating that showcased her creativity and taste.

Rhonda is survived by her mother, Loretta Hutchings Gilman, of Las Vegas, Nevada; husband, Craig, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, LaBreska Thomas and husband James, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Rochelle Johnson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brother, Chris Hutchings and wife Kathy, of Wichita Falls, Texas; and sister, Calisse Spilde of Rapid City, South Dakota; and treasured extended family, alongside several close friends that were so very dear to her heart.

Her passing was preceded by her father, Bill Hutchings; brother, Billy Hutchings; paternal grandparents, Garrett and Era Hutchings; and maternal grandparents, McCoy and Lucille Keith; as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

May the endless love and care Rhonda shared with her family and friends serve as a source of comfort and strength. The footprint she left on this world was profound, touching the lives of so many. Rhonda will be remembered as an extraordinary, amazing woman.

Details for a memorial service will be decided at a later date.
