Rex R. Hays

Rex Ravin Hays of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on June 29, 2022, at the age of 84. Rex was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on December 17, 1937, the son of Clyde Verner Hays and Pearl Ellen (Terry) Hays.

Rex was a warmhearted person who loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a jokester, always ready with a good joke, no matter the situation. Rex enjoyed traveling, playing his guitar, and most of all, spending time with those he loved. Rex touched the hearts of many, and he will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Pearl Hays, and two brothers, Sam Hays, and Bob Hays.

Left behind to treasure his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Hays; two children, son Johnny Hays and wife Cynthia, and daughter Debbie Smith; one sister, RaMona Vaughan, and one brother, Irvin Ray Hays; along with one grandson, Johnny Hays II.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 2:00pm through 8:30pm, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 S. Broadway Ave. in Moore, Oklahoma. The family will be receiving visitors from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Tuesday.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. In honor of Rex, please wear bright, cheerful colors to celebrate his life.
