Reuben Leon Jimboy of Moore, Oklahoma, affectionately known as “Loby” passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 77. Reuben was born in Okemah, Oklahoma, on January 28, 1946, to Benny and Bessie Jimboy. He attended Central High School in Oklahoma City where he was a gifted athlete who played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. After high school, he heard his country’s call and joined the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and receiving an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country.
Reuben was a Diesel Mechanic for most of his working career. He was employed by Diesel Service Inc. and had previously worked for Wilson-Bennett. He was highly respected in his field, with mechanics and truck drivers coming to him from all over the United States to seek his expertise.
Reuben enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling, and he loved playing cards and horseshoes. He was very competitive and knew a lot of people from playing sports over the years. He also enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder and was a big fan of OU football, and he loved watching a good comedy. Most of all, he loved spending time with the people he loved. He adored his wife, Debbie, and he loved taking the love of his life out on dates. The couple loved to bowl and enjoyed dining at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse for special occasions and Pickles Café on their date nights. He also adored family gatherings, always treasuring the times when the entire family could be together, especially around the holidays. When each of his grandchildren came along, he was so thrilled. Reuben was an amazing grandfather, always so gentle and patient with them. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Loby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his stepson, Justin Hicks, and three brothers, Joseph Jimboy, Lonnie Jimboy, and Allen Fixico.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Deborah Jimboy, of the home; three children, son Kyle Jimboy, and daughters Pamela Martin, and Patricia Jimboy, all of Moore, OK. He is also survived by his sister, Augustine McNac of Okemah, OK, and two grandchildren, Jordan Jimboy, and Tristan Crain.
