Phyllis Elaine (Walker) Ward

Phyllis Elaine Ward, 73, passed away on February 21, 2021.  The daughter of Russell Edward and Dorothy Irene (Dobyns) Walker, Phyllis was born on July 7, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK.  Phyllis attended Capitol Hill High School and was raised as a Baptist.  She worked for the 7-11 Corporation as a clerk and retired after 23 years of service with them. 

Phyllis enjoyed getting her hair done, reading and watching TV, especially the Food Network.  Phyllis loved her Coca-Cola and was known to have a strong will which served her well as she fought several illnesses in her last years.  She adored her grandchildren, although she was not able to spend as much time with them as she would have liked due to her health. 

Phyllis is survived by her children, Lee Ward and wife Angie and Jeanne Turnage and husband Jason; grandchildren, Brandyn Ward and wife Haley, Caitlin
Smith, Joseph Ward, Haylee Ward with Dylan Velasquez, Sarah Fuqua, Turner Fuqua, and Matthew Turnage; great grandchildren, Aidan and Miles; brothers, Charles Peck and wife Gloria, and Eddie Walker; sister, Mary Walker, numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members; and a life long friend who was like a sister to Phyllis and who introduced Phyllis and Bill, Melba Clayton and husband Joe.  Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, Bill Ward and 5 brothers and sisters. 

The family would like to thank Brandy and the Alpha Hospice for their care and support for their mother.  

Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 8:30 PM.  Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Moore Cemetery, Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
