Peter Joseph Burch

Peter Joseph Burch, 60 of Oklahoma City, Ok passed away on May 5, 2021. Born in Rapid City, South Dakota and as the child of an air force parent moved to Germany, Nebraska, Colorado, and Florida and back to Colorado.  After his dad’s retirement they moved to Missouri, where he graduated from Lebanon High School.

Pete started college and decided not to stay and go make a living.  He was more of a hands on person than a studier.

After a short period working in Missouri, he followed his dad to Oklahoma, eventually getting a full time job at Ryder Truck and also worked the same time at Walmart and a truck stop. 

He worked his way up at Ryder into management and traveled the States for work, living in many different cities across the country.

While in Dallas, he decided he wanted to move back to OKC and Ryder wouldn’t transfer him, so he quit, moved back and during the next few years had several jobs, until in 2002 he landed at his final destination – Tinker Air Force Base.

A couple of years later he met Sue through Match.com and as they say, the rest is history.

He was employed there at the time of his passing.

Survivors include his wife Sue Morrison Burch, sister Susan, niece Maggie,  furry friend Allie, and many family members and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12th from 6pm to 8:30pm and Thursday, May 13th from 9am to 8:30pm.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 14th at 11am at Crossings Community Church in The Chapel, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City.
