Paul Edward Carter, 72 of Newcastle, Oklahoma, died on October 2, 2022, after bravely battling Leukemia. Mr. Carter was born November 1, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Melvin and Bernadine Carter.
He enjoyed OU Sooner football and building race cars. He worked in the pits and was the flagman at the State Fair Speedway in OKC. Paul made the best brisket and brown beans known to man, and he loved joking around at any opportunity.
He is survived by sister Caroline Highfill, and her husband Jim; son Brian Carter, his wife Nikki, and grandson, Riley; daughter Brandi Hanson, her husband Scott, grandson Kaleb Gonzalez and his wife Maddie, and great-grandson Messiah, and great-granddaughter Athena; granddaughter Kayla Peyatt, her husband Chris, great-granddaughter Elizabeth and great-grandson Draco, who is on the way; stepson Shawn Stull, and grandchildren Meagan, Austin, and Kaylee; stepson Chad Stull, his wife Jen, and grandson Jacob; grandsons Austin and Christopher, and granddaughter Mariah from stepson Brandon Kelly, who preceded Paul in death.
Also preceding Paul in death are his father, Melvin, mother, Bernadine, and one brother, James.
Paul was surrounded by family and friends when he was called Home. He will be dearly missed. RIP.
