Patsy Tate Obituary

Patsy Ruth Tate led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community. Born in Okemah, OK, on June 27th, 1941, to Joseph and Eva Marie Lyles. On March 18th, 2024, Patsy bid farewell to this world at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shine brightly. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Patsy's life was enriched by her diverse roles as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her children: Thomas DeWitt, Regina DeWitt, Tracy DeWitt, Jason Tate, Regina Johnson, Rodger Tate, Shawna Bray, Laura Tate and Nikki Tate.

Despite facing unimaginable loss with the passing of her children Timothy Carl DeWitt and Toby Lee DeWitt, Patsy's resilience shone through, a testament to her strength of character.

She is survived by her siblings, Joseph Lyles, Richard Lyles, and Peggy Pierce, preceded in death by her sister Teddy Marshall and husband Ronald Tate.

Patsy's love for her family was evident in the joy she found in spending time with them. Whether it was hosting lively pool parties or cheering on her grandchildren at sports events, she embraced every moment with them wholeheartedly. Patsy's love for sports was evident in her participation in softball leagues and bowling, where she achieved a perfect score of 300. Her enthusiasm for life extended beyond sports, as she worked diligently at General Motors until her retirement.

Yet, Patsy's true legacy lies in her selflessness and compassion. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was offering a ride to the store or providing shelter to those in need. Patsy's kindness and loving nature made her the peacemaker within her family, fostering harmony and unity among her loved ones.

As we honor Patsy's memory, let us carry forward her legacy of love, generosity, and unity. May her life continue to inspire us to embrace each moment with our loved ones. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on as a guiding light for generations to come.
