Patricia Gaye (Smith) Vestal

Patricia Gaye Vestal, neé Smith, of Oklahoma City, passed away June 5, 2021, at age of 81.  She was born May 21, 1940, in Gracemont, Oklahoma to Herbert Doyle Smith and Katherine Violet Smith, neé Hale.

She was loving wife of 59 years to the late Johnnie Herman Vestal, and together they raised two excellent children, Pam and Richard.  Patricia was a proud mother and beloved grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her faithful and loving sisters - Ginger, Violet, Junie, Roselan (deceased), and Tommie Jo - were her closest friends her entire life.

She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma.  Her career started in Reading Education, later transitioning to Library Sciences and what was then the novel field of Computer Education at Moore West Junior High School, from where she retired in 2002.

Her grin and sense of humor will be missed by her family, sisters, and life-long friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Southwest Baptist Church, 1300 SW 54th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
