Opal Margie Wade

Opal Margie Wade of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the age of 94. Born in Gainesville Texas, on July 12, 1929, Opal was the daughter of Frank Harris and Flora Emily (Penn) Harris.

Opal came to Oklahoma City shortly after high school from Elk City and found an opportunity with a credit union downtown. She met her love, Ernest, and they loved to go dancing during their 50 plus years together.

Later she moved to Western Electric where she worked on the silver-plating line for many years. She then devoted her time to family, especially her homestyle cooking. She was a member of the women’s Order of Eastern Star for many years.

She was a sweet, caring lady who loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored. Opal will be very dearly missed.

Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wade; her daughter, Beverly Trout, and two grandchildren, Michael Martin, and Bradley Martin, brother Wayne Harris and sister, Karay ‘Olie’ Huffman.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Frances Martin, and son, David Wade, and grandchildren Laura Singleton and husband Lance, Brian Martin, Karen Horn, Michelle Johnson and husband Brad, and David Wade and wife Allison. Opal is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends.
