Susie Wheeler (Norma Sue Baker), born in Coalgate, OK on April 8, 1957, joined her grandson, Braxton Wheeler in heaven on December 20, 2021, at the age of 64. Her son, Tyrel Wheeler joined them in heaven a few weeks later. Susie is survived by the love of her life, Jerry Wheeler; daughter, Candice Wheeler; son-in-law, Tony; daughter-in-law, Jeanna; mother-in-law, Ruth; sister-in-law’s, Tanna & Lee & Jo Ellen; furbaby kiddos Joely & Sprocket; furbaby granddogs Angel & Cenny; several nieces & nephews and numerous friends that were more like family. Preceding her in death was her father, Newton Baker; mother, Pearl Layton; brothers, Bill, Roy, Charles Baker; father-in-law, Earl Wheeler and sister-in-law Sue.
Susie and her husband Jerry lived together in their Lake home in Eufaula, Oklahoma for the past 6 years but their home will forever be Crescent, Oklahoma where they lived and raised their two children Tyrel and Candice for 28 years. Susie and Jerry were married for nearly 43 years and had known each other since the age of 16. They went through a lot together, traveled a lot and sure made love & marriage look easy. Susie loved those around her very dearly and always took in other children as her own. You were always greeted with Hi, a big hug, and love you babe. Always a “thank you”, “babe”, “honey”, or a “please”. She truly cared so deeply about the well-being of other beyond herself. She loved fiercely but don’t you dare mess with her family or that feisty Indian would arise.
There will be a celebration of life held on February 5, 2022 @ 11:00 am at the CrossPointe Assembly of God Church 802 E Jefferson St Crescent OK 73028. The family requests that you wear Purple in honor of Susie. Flowers can be sent to the church and donations can be made to Mutt Misfits Animal Rescue of OKC. Feel free to be prepared to share a comment or bring a story as the service will be informal and we will ask for people to share.
