Nicholas C. Barrett, 42 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life unexpectedly on January 27, 2024. He was a member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church in OKC and enjoyed studying his Bible regularly. Nick loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and riding dirt bikes. He also really loved watching and playing sports. He especially enjoyed watching OKC Thunder basketball and was a fan of O.U. and O.S.U. football and basketball. Growing up, he played Little League sports and continued playing into his high school years. Nick attended Southeast High School in Oklahoma City.
From the time he was very young, he had an inquisitive and adventurous spirit. Nick enjoyed learning new things and wanted to travel the world. When he wasn't watching sports, he loved watching action and adventure movies, or anything on the Discovery Channel. He listened to all types of music - from country, to rap, to Christian music, he truly liked it all. He absolutely loved Chelino’s Mexican restaurant, and their food was basically all he would eat (except for the occasional catfish dinner).
Nick was so loving and charismatic. He loved to socialize, and he was incredibly friendly and outgoing with the best, most contagious laugh. Family was, by far, the most important thing to him. His momma was his world, and he cared very deeply for the ones he loved. Nick truly enjoyed every second he got to spend with his family, and with his friends whom he considered his bonus family. To say he will be deeply missed is an understatement.
As we reflect on Nick’s life, let us remember him for the laughs he shared, his dedication to his family, and his commitment to the things that brought him joy. Nick will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light, reminding us to cherish each day and find contentment in the simple pleasures that bring us together.
He is survived by his beloved mother: Shirley Barrett of Oklahoma; brothers Billy Ridge of Tennessee, Charles Ridge of Oklahoma, and Gary Ridge of Massachusetts; two children, both of Oklahoma; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many loyal friends that loved him very much.
Preceding him in death are a nephew, Brett Brown, his Grandma and Grandpa Howard, and his uncles.
