Melba Faye Huckleby, age 66 of Norman, passed away on September 9, 2021. She was born on October 29, 1954 to Earl Wesley Poe and Norma May Bench in Manhattan, Kansas.
Melba enjoyed listening to music, especially AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis, and Tom Jones. You could usually find her with a fresh Dr. Pepper in her hand, doing her word searches and enjoying a peanut butter cup. She was adventurous and loved travelling, especially the opportunities she had to go to South Dakota, Nebraska, and to Disney World. She loved to go shopping, especially when she could find a good bargain.
Melba loved living an easygoing, drama free life. She loved to hear about other people’s lives, but liked to stay out of their business. She loved watching the Sooners play ball, and she loved a good scary movie. She was incredibly generous, and always kept her house beautifully organized.
Melba was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and her first love was being with her family, especially during the holidays. She was always happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandson. Melba touched the hearts of many, and she will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 13 at the Bentley Community Cemetery in Bentley, Oklahoma.
