Martina M Kingston, beloved mother and Mamaw, was born November 8, 1928, in Augsburg, Germany, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Martina, who met her first husband who was stationed in Germany immigrated to Mesquite, TX in the ’50s. They had two kids together, Susan Manning and Julian S. May Jr. “Butch”. In 1963 she married the love of her life R.B. Kingston. They spent 26 years together before his passing.
Throughout the years, Tina had many jobs, working at an optical shop and working the ticket booth at the State Fair of Texas, which she loved to do every year and the people she got to work with. Even after retirement, Tina did not slow down. She worked as a special needs aid at Lakeview Elementary school.
Even though Tina was only 4 ft 10 inches tall she was a fireball. You would never catch her without her red hair that she dyed herself. She loved coffee, croissants, waffles, and Dr. Pepper. At home, she would always watch TCM but would change it if one of the great-grandkids wanted something else on and loved to play board games with her family, even though she always cheated.
Tina’s most important job over her life was Mom/Mamaw. She loved her family tremendously. She moved from Mesquite to Bethany in 1995 to be closer to family and had never left. She loved helping take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed one of the great-grandkid's baseball games or dance competitions.
She was preceded in death by her husband R.B. Kingston and daughter Susan Manning. She is survived by son Julian S. May Jr. “Butch” and wife Deana of Terrell, TX, grandchildren Whitney and husband Adam Tyler of Moore, OK, Jarred Manning of Norman, OK and great-grandchildren Karlea, Chase, and Nora Jean Tyler of Moore, Oklahoma.
