Margie Janice "Jan" (Choate) Olstad Taylor, passed away on March 1, 2021. The daughter of Royce and Esther (Wagner) Choate, Jan was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 9, 1940.
Jan was a long-time employee of JC Penney’s at Crossroads Mall. She retired after several years as the personnel manager. Jan attended Emmaus Baptist Church with Dale and Pam for the last 6 years, but before that, she was an active member of Destiny Christian Center. She was involved in several ministries including the Silver Servants and the ministry where she helped in feeding children.
Jan and Stoney were very involved in the Custom 50’s car club and in dance clubs. Through these two organizations, they made many wonderful friends that lasted until her death. Jan loved gardening and working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed reading romance novels and working puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Jan is survived by her children, Dale Olstad and wife Pam, Andrea Sisson and husband Darrell, and Todd Taylor and wife Janice; grandchildren, Hunter Olstad and wife Kylie, Halie Sauseda and husband James, Julia Ingram and husband Josh, Tyler Nicholson and wife Katrina, Todd Nicholson, Tanner Nicholson, Dani Duvall, Miranda Houff, Jake Sisson, Emily Taylor, and Kaiti Redkey; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Doyle Choate and wife Glenda. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elbert “Stoney” Taylor; son, Michael “Mike” Olstad; and brother, Lindy Choate.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM with a formal visitation with the family present to receive family and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the John Ireland Funeral Home 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western, OKC, OK at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
