Madelyn Colleen Stark

August 10, 1940 ~ September 12, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Obituary

Madelyn Colleen Stark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 83. Colleen was born in Oklahoma City on August 10, 1940, to John Alvin Argo and Ruby Jean (Gravitt) Argo. She attended Capitol Hill High School, graduating with the Class of 1958.

Colleen worked at St. Anthony Hospital as an operator, a job she loved doing for 22 years. Sweet, a little tough when she needed to be, and loved by all, Colleen was a lively, free-spirited person who lived for the happiness of her family. She was a beautiful woman, a classic beauty reminiscent of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who always liked to look her best.

She loved to cook, especially around the holidays. Every year on Halloween, Colleen loved having all the grandkids over for a little party, which always featured her famous chili dogs. She absolutely loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and enjoyed listening to her favorite Christmas music year-round.

Colleen always made everyone, friends and family alike, feel comfortable and at home in her presence. When her children were growing up, the Stark household was the place to be for all of John, Denice, and Elizabeth’s friends. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and music, and Colleen enjoyed adding bright colors and a bit of sparkle to everything. She had an enormous collection of shiny, sparkly earrings, and she loved adding new Mickey Mouse items to her impressive collection. More than anything, Colleen treasured her family and the beautiful memories they made together. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. She will be deeply missed and remembered fondly, always.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and John Argo, and one grandson, Scott Burr.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, John Wesley Stark and daughter-in-law Robin, and her daughters, Denise Stark, and Elizabeth Stark; her sister, Jean Ann Argo-Brooks; seven grandchildren, David, Cody, Daniel, Julie, Hayden, Nick, and Maegan; along with nine great-grandchildren, niece Shanda Vannostran-Martin, nephew Greg Vannostran, and a host of loving extended family and friends.
