Loretta Wilkerson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on February 6, 2024. She was born Loretta Gladys Myers on May 30, 1942, to Ruth and John Austin Myers, both of whom preceded her in death. Loretta is also preceded by her husband, Roy Wilkerson, her brother, Gary Myers, and sister Josephine “Jody” Michener.
She leaves three children to cherish her memory: sons Kevin Wilkerson, and Phil Wilkerson and his wife Kimberly, and daughter Lori Wilkerson.
The love and dedication Loretta showed her family knew no bounds. She adored the people in her life and enjoyed nothing more than quality time spent with the people she loved. With a lifelong passion for music, Loretta loved playing her fiddle and performed with the group “The Golden Okies”. She sang at her church as well, where she also taught Sunday School. Faith and family were everything to Loretta, and she loved praying for everyone. She also enjoyed traveling with her club, Mobile Villa, and especially loved the trips they took to Branson, Missouri.
As we reflect on the life of Loretta Gladys Wilkerson, let us remember her for the beautiful moments she shared, the love she showered upon her family, and her commitment to the things that brought her joy. Her legacy lives on through the songs she sang, the people she impacted, and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed.
