Lonnie Dean Plemmons of Oklahoma City, passed on September 23, 2021, at the age of 95, from COVID complications. He was born April 11, 1926, in Magazine, Arkansas. He served in the Navy during WWII. Later he became an expert machinist and retired from Tinker Field Air Force Base. He married Lois Allene Taylor April 1, 1950. They celebrated 67 years of marriage until her death in 2017. Throughout his life he remained active and was the ultimate, meticulous housekeeper, tool-man, gardener, and neighborhood “fix-it” man. His last 4 years were spent in assisted living at Meadowlake Retirement in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed making candy and cookies and sharing. He also enjoyed gardening at Meadowlake. Lonnie was the youngest of 9 children.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Joseph Alonzo Plemmons and Margaret Retimmie Blanton Plemmons, his wife Lois, son Lyndol, 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Shirley Keen, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, located at 8601 S. Pennsylvania Ave in Oklahoma City.
