Larry Scott Christner Obituary

(Larry) Scott Christner was born in Sidney, Nebraska on April 10, 1960, to Kent and Elaine Christner. He left this life on August 5, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 62 following a brief battle with complications following an emergency surgery.

Scott graduated from Enid High School in the class of 1978. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from NWOSU and became a CPA. He worked for several oil and environmental companies in northwest Oklahoma during his career. In 2013, he moved to Norman to care for his father, Kent. During these years, he served as Produce Manager for WalMart.

Scott raised two children adopted from South Korea, Erika and Gabe, with his then wife Melanie in Enid, OK. He was a proud, passionate dad who never missed a game or event that his children participated in. For many of the teams that his children played on Scott was a coach. He also was an avid gamer from D&D to chess to computer games; he was always playing them in his free time with friends. He was a loving father and supporter of his children to the end.

Scott is survived by his children Erika Christner and Gabe Christner of Enid; a grandson, Oliver Christner of Enid; one aunt, Becky Taylor; two cousins, Rhonda Williams and husband Mike of Tucson, Arizona, and Bobby Christner; and a host of other loving extended family and dear friends.

A joint memorial service for both Scott and his father, Kent, will be held on August 20, 2022, at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 603 Classen Blvd, Norman, Oklahoma.
