Karen Ann Wootton departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. Karen Wootton was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on September 13, 1950, to her parents Bill and Doris Whitchurch. Karen spent her childhood in Oklahoma City and graduated from Southeast High School in 1969.
Karen Wootton was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Whitchurch and Doris Whitchurch. She is survivedby her siblings, Jimmy Whitchurch and spouse Linda Whitchurch; Bobby Whitchurch; Barbara Imoe and spouse, Lori Krough; David Imoe; children, Sandra Collins (Humphrey) and spouse Greg Collins, Richard Humphrey and spouse Andrea Humphrey; Dale Keeble and spouse Shannon Keeble; grandchildren, Kenny Collins and spouse Kelsie Collins; Kyle Collins and spouse Dalysha Collins; Cody Hale and spouse Courtney Hale; Skyler Hale; Seth Parsons; and eight great-grandchildren.
Karen Wootton had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone she met; anyone who met her were instantly thought of as family. All who knew her were touched by her grace, thoughtfulness, and encouraging words. Karen Wootton enjoyed reading her Bible and becoming closer with her Lord and Savior. She took great pride in singing every Sunday in her church choir. She also enjoyed going to the dirt track races, as well as preparing a good, home-cooked meal. As a little girl, Karen was an avid dancer, even dancing for the halftime show of the Harlem Globetrotters. She also competed in gymnastics. Most deeply, Karen Wootton loved God and His son, Jesus Christ.
A celebration for life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 2 pm. The funeral service will be held at Lynne Mae Chapel (507 E Main St. Moore, OK 73160). A reception with a potluck dinner will immediately following the service.
