Julian Mojica, Jr., of Oklahoma City, passed away on February 9, 2021, at the age of 66. He was born November 10, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas to Lupe (Ramos) & Julian S. Mojica, Sr.
Julian was a graduate of Crooked Oak High School, Class of 1973, and then went on to Seminary School in Ohio. Growing up, Julian was very dedicated to his church, Sacred Heart, where he helped put together the church bulletins, picked up the church hymnals, and assisted with the church audio. He enjoyed taking his father to church every Saturday. Julian was employed at JC Penney’s, Sanger-Harris, and Foley’s, all at Crossroads Mall. He went on to be a substitute teacher before medically retiring.
Julian enjoyed working in the yard, cooking, and listening to music. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music – and yes, he even enjoyed Disco music. His sister, Ruby said he was a great dancer. Julian was a Texas Tech fan and an Oklahoma Sooners fan, which made watching college football interesting, because his brother-in-law, Carl was not only a devout OU fan, he was also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Julian enjoyed watching movies and going to the library and reading.
He was very outgoing and was known by his family as “Jr.” Ruby said her brother was very generous with his time and money, and he was always there for his nieces and nephews. His sister, Rose said her brother would give you the shirt off his back, and that he was a very kind, thoughtful, and loving person, and he always brought goodies to his sisters. Julian was extremely close to his parents and was a loving son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. His first love was being with all of his family at family get-togethers and during the holidays. Julian Mojica touched the loved of many and never expected anything in return. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Julian is survived by his father, Julian S. Mojica, Sr.; 2 sisters, Rose Johnson & husband, Carl, and Ruby Mojica; 3 brothers, Jesse Mojica & wife, Debbie, Ferman Mojica & wife, Reba, and Danny Mojica & fiancée, RaDonna. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lupe.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 2706 S. Shartel Ave., in Oklahoma City. He will be laid to rest at Sunny Lane Cemetery, in Del City. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
