Juanita “Nita” Ratzlaff went to her Heavenly Home on October 14, 2021. She was born on June 26, 1923, to Joseph and Olga Lorance in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Nita was a faithful and devoted Christian. Other than her faith, her true love was her family. She married the love of her life, Curly, on July 4, and they had two children, Terri and Tracy. Her children were her true joy. She loved being a mother, homemaker, and was an excellent cook and seamstress.
Nita and Curly attended Southern Hills Baptist Church every Sunday, without fail, for 30-plus years. She was very involved in Sunday School, and she prepared and served meals on Wednesday nights for many years.
Nita and Curly loved hosting family gatherings, and their home was always open and welcoming to all family members, even on a moment’s notice. Nita truly enjoyed life due to her great capacity to love and be loved. Her smiling face, sweet and spicy spirit, and warm hugs were gratefully received by all who were blessed to know and love her. She was so very special to so many and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by husband Nevelyn “Curly” Ratzlaff, son Tracy Ratzlaff, grandsons Marshall Kiefner and Joshua Aday, sisters Thelma West, Ophan Ritchie, Lois Lambert, Nadine Smith, and Lavon Pitzer.
Nita is survived by her daughter, Terri Kiefner, granddaughter Meghan and husband Clint Morris, and their sons Thomas and Jeffrey; grandchildren Sarah Ratzlaff, Kyle Ratzlaff, Ashley Shipman, Brnadon Aday, Jacob Aday, Brittany Woods, and Ryan Kerr Jordan; great-grandchildren Ryan and Katy Mitchell, Kaiden Ratzlaff, Emalyn and Lathan Aday, Gaige Aday, Zoey and Zayden Woods. She is also affectionately remembered by 26 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Engles, Dr. Thomas Merrill, the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice, specifically Jeri and Sam. We would also like to recognize her volunteer visitor, both Karen Branstetter and Stacy Hiebert, as well as a special thank you to Trisha Harris. May God bless you for all you did for my mother.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, located at 8601 South Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore, Oklahoma.
