Joseph Raymond Dotson II of Goldsby, Oklahoma passed away from this life on October 10, 2021 at the age of 58. He was born in Oklahoma City to Joseph Raymond Dotson I and Shirley Ann Wells (formerly Robinson) on February 12, 1963. Joseph grew up playing baseball and football in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Blackwell High School, and was the quarterback for the football team.
Joe made a successful career for himself in the car sales industry. He was the General Manager at the Seth Wadley car dealership. He was a terrific salesman and was excellent at his job.
Joe loved sports. He was a big OU fan, always rooting for the Sooners on game day. He was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed basketball and loved to watch the OKC Thunder play ball. More than anything, Joe (DoDo) loved spending time with his family. He was incredibly proud of his daughter. Joseph touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dotson, as well as his stepmother, Velma Dotson and a stepfather, Dub Wells.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Ashley Dotson; his former wife, Danette Dotson; his mother, Shirley Wells; his sisters, Kelle Williams and husband Alan, and Kari Bredahal; stepbrothers Rob Harris, Cary Harris, Don Wells, and JR Wells, and stepsisters Cathy Charish and Donna Eichling; nieces Jennifer and husband Brodie, Kristi and husband Tommy, and Amanda, and nephews Justin, Shane, and Dale; great-nephews Lucas and Aiden, and great-nieces Brooklyn, Zoey, and Melody; best friend, Kaley Guerra, as well as a host of loving family members, colleagues, and friends.
A memorial service for Joe will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.
