Jose Romero Murillo Obituary

Jose Eduardo Romero Murillo, age 31 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life far too soon on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Jose was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Troy Lee Duncan and Maria Jose Romero on July 23, 1990. He attended Westmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma, and later, proudly received his diploma from Burbank High School in Burbank, California. He then went on to attend both USC and Santa Monica College.

Jose loved people and had an unmatched zest for life. He was generous with a kind heart, always willing to help anyone in need. More than anything, Jose loved to spend time with his family (including his Houston family) all of whom he was extremely close to. He was a proud uncle to his seven nephews, and he adored his mom – from the time he was a little boy, he thought she hung the moon – and he enjoyed camping out and having cookouts with his sisters and his brother-in-law, Angel. He was especially close to his little brother and best friend Troy, who Jose affectionately referred to as “Anthony”. The pair were making plans to record and perform music together, and Troy was always Jose’s biggest hype man. Jose loved freestyle rap, especially Houston-based artists, and he loved writing and rapping on the fly with his brother and friends.

Jose lived his life to the fullest and had a wide variety of hobbies. He was a jokester who was the life of every party. He was a gun enthusiast, and a big fan of any and all sports. He enjoyed playing with his dog, Raja, working on cars, traveling, watching his favorite show, Narcos, and listening to music, especially rap. Jose had a sharp mind, full of big ideas. He had a plan to start a 3-D printing business, and had recently learned to crochet with his mom and his girlfriend, Caylee. Jose loved and cherished time with his girlfriend, and he had plans to make her his wife someday. He very much enjoyed living on the West coast, often reminiscing about his time there, and his biggest plan was to move back there someday and start a family with Caylee. Jose touched the hearts of many during his life, and he will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Lee Duncan, and an aunt, Terry Ann Holman. Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Maria Jose Romero and her fiancé, Troy Cooper; one brother, Troy Duncan, and two sisters, Monica Romero-Murillo, and Rebeca Romero, as well as a brother-in-law, Angel Yanez.; his loving girlfriend, Caylee Mishaé; his grandmother, Carmen Tipton; along with his seven nephews, Christian Romero-Fraire, Ivan Romero-Yanez, Jacob Romero-Fraire, Noah Romero-Yanez, Juliyen Romero-Rideau, Giovanni Romero-Rideau, and Troy Nehemiah Soul Duncan.
