Joetta "Jody" Lynn Coomer

Joetta “Jody” Lynn Coomer of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 57. Jody was born in Bakersfield, California, on May 7, 1966, the daughter of Christine (Frost) Knight and Lee Roy Knight. She attended high school in Shawnee, Oklahoma, graduating in 1984. On September 29, 1984, Jody married the love of her life, Ronald Coomer.

For seven years, Jody worked as an admissions clerk at the former Midwest City Regional Hospital, now known as St. Anthony Midwest. She enjoyed going to church, and at home, loved watching her favorite movies and listening to music. More than anything, Jody enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and sister, a beloved aunt, and a true friend to many. Jody will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Christine Knight, a brother, Ken Knight, and a sister, Diane Baker.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband of nearly 39 years, Ronald Coomer; two sisters, Glenda Knight of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Cindy Baker of Bakersfield, California; sister-in-law Lisa Coomer, and mother-in-law Joann Coomer, both of Shawnee, Oklahoma; several nephews and nieces, including: Cason Coomer; Kimberly Gerard, husband Michael, and their children Finn and Nora; Kyndra Dearth, her husband Jeff, and their children Bradon, Edison, and Bellamy; Christopher Stever, wife Bailey, and their daughter, Olive; along with Dillon Stever, Buddy Knight, cousins Lisa Knight of Norman, Oklahoma, Sam Wyant and his wife Terry, and Johnnie Wyant and his wife Gaylene, all of Pampa, Texas, and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, 120 S. Broadway Ave. in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
