Jestella Shawn Moody

Jestella (Shawn) Moody, age 76, died peacefully on February 27, 2021.  Shawn was born August 16,1944 near Hydro, OK to William Earl Dungan and Gladys Maxine Dungan.  She graduated high school from Lookeba-Sickles and went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.

On January 13, 1968 she married JL Moody and they were married for fifty-one years.  Shawn was a dedicated wife and mother and worked as an administrative assistant as her profession.  She liked to cook and she loved telling stories to her family and friends. Those who knew her best said she was a wonderful and kind woman with a beautiful soul.  She spent the last years of her life playing with her granddaughters, teaching them to cook and watching them play softball.

Shawn is preceded in death by her parents; husband JL Moody and son Jeffrey Moody; brothers Duane Dungan and Jeff Harbuck; sisters Flossie Riemer and Patricia Harbuck.

Shawn is survived by her son Mike Moody and wife Shelly; granddaughters Jordyn and Ashley; brothers Ernest (Bud) Dungan and wife Faith, Lee Dungan and wife Pat, Darrell Dungan, Kim Harbuck and wife Carla; sisters; Wanda Wallace, Johnnie LaBrie, Veda Griffin and husband Dalton, Jackie Pettijohn and husband A. J.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St. Moore, Ok. Arrangements are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Ok.
