Jennifer Lynne Ashford was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on October 22, 1974, the daughter of Charles Courtney Ashford and Kate (Daugherty) Butler. On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Jennifer passed away from this life at the age of 47, after 17 long years battling cancer.
Jennifer was a kindhearted, optimistic woman who loved with her entire heart, and then some. She was a talented singer and songwriter whose greatest passion in life was music. She had such a sweet, kind heart and was always concerned and compassionate towards animals. Jennifer never turned away an animal in need, personally rescuing countless strays during her life. Her charitable nature extended to her fellow humans as well. Jennifer was well-loved and highly respected, so much so, nobody ever had an unkind word to say about her. She truly had love for just about every person she met. Her friends and family knew that if they were ever having any troubles, they could call Jennifer to brighten their day.
Most admirable about Jennifer was her incredible strength. She never once gave up, and her tenacity and resilience were such an inspiration to those in her life. Jennifer will be remembered fondly always for her beautiful soul and the genuine love and care she showed to everyone around her. She will be very dearly missed by all those lucky enough to have known her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ashford, and her stepfather, Rick Butler.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Drew Carter, Caleb Carter, Joseph Roberson Jr., and Jakob Roberson, her mother, Mary Kathleen Butler, and three siblings, Carrie Frabisillio, Corky Ashford and his wife Anna, and Jason Ashford. Jennifer is also survived by many other loved ones and a host of dear friends who will miss her very much.
