Janice Gladys Guelda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, born on August 15, 1931, passed away from this life on January 21, 2023, at the age of 91.
Janice enjoyed working hard and staying active throughout her entire life. Most of her life was spent working for Corken, Inc. After retirement from Corken, Janice worked for the Newcastle Casino Player's Club, a job she thoroughly enjoyed for 17 years until she was 90 years of age. She loved watching sports, especially OU and Thunder basketball, a passion she shared with her daughter, Jan. The duo held season tickets to OU Basketball and many fond memories were made attending games together. She also loved to bowl and was an active participant in her bowling league with Jan. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed gardening, decorating her backyard, and loved cooking for her family, especially her famous cheese ball. She cared enormously about her family and friends, and rarely was concerned about herself in the process. She had a zest for life and a much-loved sense of humor. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Janice will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ethel (Graves) Medford, and her father, Willie Medford; Also preceding her in death are her husband, Jack Guelda; one daughter, Jan Guelda; a sister, Frances Williams, and one brother, Bill Medford; as well as two nieces, Katrina, and Shari.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved granddaughter, Raven Guleda; two sisters, Peggy Medford, and Pat Pilaczinski; two nephews, Richard, and David, and four nieces, Patty, Kimmerly, Amberlee, and Corina; along with many more loved ones and friends.
