James Grant "Jim" Wire

James Grant “Jim” Wire, of Luther, Oklahoma, passed away March 24, 2021, at the age of 83.  He was born August 14, 1937, in Carthage, Missouri to Bernard Nealus & Dorothy Ora (Brown) Wire.  Jim enjoyed bowling and cutting wood and loved feeding the birds.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jim was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  He is survived by 2 sons, James “Jimmy” Wire & wife, Ruth, and Jeffery Wire; son-in-law, Keith Smith; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Eldon Wire & wife, Pauline and David Wire & wife, Brenda; 3 sisters, Esther Brown, Ruth Briscoe & husband, John, and Carol Coose & husband, Alfred; and many other loving family members and friends.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard & Dorothy Wire; his beloved wife, Lawanda June; and his daughter, Melinda Smith.  A memorial service will be held to celebrate Jim’s life at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
