James Edward Roy

James Edward Roy of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on June 10, 2022, at the age of 85. James was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Dave and Martha Roy on September 16, 1936.

As a young man, he heard his country’s call and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served proudly and received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his nation when called upon to do so. Until his retirement, he was a professional semi-truck driver. James married the love of his life, Clara, on September 25, 1958, and together they had five children, Debbie, Loretta, Randal, Daniel, and Sheryl. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from at 12:00pm through 8:30pm on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 S. Broadway Ave. in Moore, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore. A graveside service and burial with military honors will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
