James Leroy Knight of Yukon, Oklahoma was born on September 2, 1958, to Bill Knight and Freda Christine Knight, née Tobey. On Thursday, July 15, 2021, James left this world to join his Lord and Savior at the age of 62 years old.
For several years, James worked as a truck driver for Keebler before retiring to start his own lawn care business. He spent his free time fishing, watching Nascar, landscaping, or maintaining his coin collection. His favorite past time though by far was spending time with his grandchildren. Family was central to his life. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Margaret Knight, née Cheek. He and Margaret attended Unified Vision Church, where James dedicated many hours of work and service. He devoted his life to taking care of his wife who he completely adored.
James was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Tylar Lasha Brown, Paris D. Hazel, Myah R. Collins, Steven M. Cannon III; his parents; a step-daughter, Torrie Barnett, and his son-in-law, Johnny Hazel. He is survived by his wife, Margret; son, Steven Cannon and his wife, Jamie; son, Josh Knight and his wife, Amber; daughter, Angelia Knight; son, Michael Cannon and his wife, Candice; daughter, Ashley Collins and her husband, Jimmy Pena; a step-son, Steven Barnett, a step-daughter, Jeanette Barnett, 16 grandchildren, Jayden Paxton, Keegan Cannon, Kaitlyn Knight, Brooklyn Knight, Landon Knight, Joey Knight, Colton Knight-Walker, Wyatt Cannon, Mason Cannon, Jaxson Collins, Kaiden Pena, Addyson Pena, Ryan Barnett, Jonathan Holliman, Christopher Holliman, and Emily Barnett; brother, Gary Knight; sister, Kathy Knight; and many other extended, loving family members.
The viewing will be from 11:00 AM until 8:30 PM on Monday, July 19, 2021, at John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel. From 5:00 until 8:00 PM, family will receive guests. Funeral services will be at 2:00 M on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Unified Vision Center Church, 2323 SW 44th St, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
