James Albertson Sr. Obituary

James Albertson Sr. was born on July 1, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Joe Martin Albertson and Edna Lee Albertson.  James grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Capitol Hill High School.  He married the love of his life and wife for 59 years, Carolyn Sue Shannon on July 9, 1963.  James worked at grocery stores and filling stations until he landed a Job at Consolidated Wholesale in 1967.  While at Consolidated, James worked his way from a delivery driver to the position of Transportation Supervisor at the time of his retirement in 2000.

James worked hard his entire life with a focus on providing for his family.  James’ biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren.  He had five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. James would make all the grandkids ballgames, birthdays and special occasions that he possibly could right up to the time that he was no longer physically able earlier this year.  He was professional television viewer and believed to have been a secret Special Cowboy and Westerns Consultant to the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) as well as the Noble, OK chapter President of the Conway Twitty fan club.

James greatly loved his family and was loved greatly by his family.  When asked, knowing that his time on earth is limited, what’s the best advice that he had with eighty years of wisdom under his belt?  James’ response was that he hoped all his family and friends would come to know Jesus Christ.

James was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Edna, brothers David Albertson, Melvin Black and sister Shirley Mitchum.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, brother Tom and wife Reba, two sons James and wife Wanda, Curtis and wife Pamela, grandchildren John and Katie Albertson, Lindsay and Josh Nichols, Kiren Alberry, Madison and Carrington Johnson, James Albertson III, and Jim and Faith Evans. Eleven great grandchildren, Cole, Paisley, Ty, Haylee, Lilah, Riley, Thea, Declan, Augustine, Charlee and Camille and numerous other family and friends.
