Irene Elizabeth (Bullard) Carroll

Irene Elizabeth (Bullard) Carroll, 87, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday, 6 November 2021.

Born on Tuesday, 25 September 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Elvin Bullard of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and the late Elizabeth (Garee) of Noble, Oklahoma.

She was raised in Noble, Ok and graduated from University High School in Norman, Ok.    She married Don Bauman of Anadarko, Ok on June 4, 1954.      His career in the US Navy saw them raising their family in Bethesda, Maryland, Corpus Christi, Texas, Subic Bay, the Philippines, San Diego, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, Honolulu, Hawaii.

They divorced in 1970 and she returned to Noble where she started her career with Norman Public Schools, retiring as Director of Purchasing.

Later in life she pursued her love of travel, going solo to Scotland, Ireland, Italy, France, and Holland.

She enjoyed collecting SW and Native American art, frequently visiting lifelong friends in Lake Havasu.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 7 years, William 'Wesley' Carroll.

Irene is survived by three sons, David Bauman and his wife Marvene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Keith Bauman and his wife Kay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Eric Bauman and his wife Jill of Norman, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jessica Briggs and her husband John of Bronx, New York, Travis Bauman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Kelsey Cayton and her husband Scotty of Lafayette, Colorado. She is also survived by three step grandchildren, Emily Cavicchio and her fiancé Darren Allen of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Drew Edington and his wife Kyla, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Bryce Edington and his spouse Jessi, of Norman, Oklahoma, and four great grandchildren, Carter Cavicchio, Kinley Boyd, and Luke and Lindy Edington.

Irene was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Bullard of Bellville, Texas;  and one grandson, Austin Clark Bauman.
