Gloria Millard Obituary

Gloria Millard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on April 13, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born Gloria Jeanne Allen in San Diego, California, on October 7, 1946, the daughter of Albert Fenton Allen and Dorothy Marcene (Buchanan) Allen, both of whom have preceded her in death.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Gloria is survived by her husband of 20 years, James Millard; her children, David Finicle, Steve Finicle and wife Michelle, and Cyndi Buss and husband David, all of Oregon, and Randi Stephens and husband Robert, Danielle Goodrich and husband Kory, and Jeromy Millard, all of Oklahoma City; brother Jay Allen and wife Deborah of Lakewood, California, and sister Bonnie Long of Phoenix, Arizona; her grandchildren, Julia, Kirsten, Toby, Ellie, Devin, Riley, Tyler, Zakary, Bryce, Joel, Hunter, Matthew, EJ, and Jentri; and great-grandchildren Dawsyn, Reed, and Sutton.

Gloria attended school in Lakewood, California and graduated from Mayfair High School with the Class of 1965. On July 10, 2003, she married the great love of her life, James, in a beautiful ceremony on Catalina Island.

Short in stature but colossal in personality, Gloria was a beautiful, caring, happy and compassionate person. She adored animals, especially her dogs, Charlie and Emma, and was a lifelong Elvis fan who treasured any song he ever sang. A bit of a cinema buff, she enjoyed going to the movies often, and she loved to follow the wide world of hockey, especially when she could cheer for her favorite team, the Edmonton Oilers. Gloria also loved traveling. She had especially fond memories of family trips to Branson, and of spending time at her favorite lake in Northern Ohio. As a military spouse, she also loved attending all the military reunions and spending time with the other wives she’d befriended over the years.

At home, Gloria was known for her culinary wizardry and loved cooking for her family. Highly skilled in the kitchen, especially when it came to baking, those in her life were regularly blessed when she cooked, and particularly when she made her fabulous “world famous” cherry pie. To Gloria, family was everything, and it was inevitably the people she loved that brought her the most joy. She prioritized the happiness and well-being of her family above all else and absolutely cherished the times when everyone could be together. She particularly looked forward to spending the holidays with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As we honor her memory, we are reminded of the enduring impact she leaves on the hearts of her family and friends, a legacy of kindness and love that will forever endure. Gloria will be very deeply missed.
