Glennes McAnally Obituary

Glennes Joan McAnally, 81, went home to be with the Lord March 30, 2024. She was born February 26, 1943 in Oklahoma City at St. Anthony Hospital. She was born the 2nd of three children, the only daughter of Charles and Dorothy Dysart.

As a youth Glennes was an avid roller skater and was recognized as a registered amateur competitive roller skater. She attended Northwest Classen High School where she met her first husband, John Henry Flickinger, and together they had three children, including Charles, and Deborah. In 1971, Glennes gave birth to her 3rd daughter, Julie. In 1972, she married Robert Thomas McAnally and they had one son together, Steven. Glennes and Robert were happily married for 39 years until Robert's passing in 2012.

For many years, Glennes juggled the demands of work and home. She raised 5 children while working various jobs, helping to provide for her family. She spent many years as a loan officer at Local Federal Savings and Loan. She will be remembered, loved, and respected for her unwavering commitment to her children.

Glennes' life was marked by a rare inner joy, even during seasons of adversity. She was a stage mom and always enjoyed music, theater, and movies. Her dogs brought her happiness along with gardening, good food, sleeping in, and long heartfelt friendly conversations. However, nothing ever seemed to bring her more joy than being with family. Glennes' faith in Jesus was handed down from her mother and became a bedrock for her, especially later in life.

Glennes is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy, her late husband Robert McAnally, her two brothers Joe and William Dysart, and her son Charles McAnally. Glennes is survived by her daughter Deborah and her husband Dana Rothaus, her daughter Julie and her husband Brian Molly, and her son Steven McAnally and his wife Crissy. She is also survived by her stepson Jimmy McAnally and his wife Alana. Glennes was blessed with and is survived by 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
